Art Happens

They say that beauty is in the eye of the holder. Well it appears that school officials at the prestigious University of Virginia don’t gree with that statement, and don’t have much of a sense of humor.

UVA, just a few hours drive from here, recently vetoed a student’s art project from appearing in a school related exhibit. Why? Because it consisted of blue & orange fake dog poop (the school’s colors) atop a stool (of the wooden variety). It was a tribute to the late mascot “seal”, who according to school lore, once pooped on a rival teams megaphone. From a local newspaper:

In the film, an enormous dog’s face devours a Cavalier figure and then rains multi-colored shit down from the sky; blue and orange coils amass on top of a stool that resembles the piece in Berman’s show.

If anyone has that video please share in the comments. And if anyone related to this project needs any poop we will be happy to donate a few dozen piles to the cause. The exhibit can be seen at a local gallery beginning tonight.

Keep coming back here for all of your fake dog poop news. And stay classy.
